# Can we set thickness of the pencil/line tools?

In a sketch component, can I alter the pencil thickness?

My goal is to have students tap to create a dot pattern with bigger dots.

1. We don’t have control over that _yet_, but its on the feature request list
2. If students are only creating dots (no complete strokes), you can set the sketch opacity to 0 and use a graph background to display the dots.

I was working on this when Jay posted, but if you want the dots to increase in size on clicks, here’s something that might work.
