# Checkbox tiles fail to sink to free responses the way that other checkbox styles do

Something’s not working the way it seems like it should.

When I set a checkbox component to “tiles” and sink one of its choices to a free response input …

I saw a blank tile appear …

But I expected the free response to populate the tile.

Checkbox components set to any other style with a choice sink’ed to a free response input work as expected; this appears to afflict tiles only.

(Typing an initial space in the FITB for the sink’ed choice seems to make the sink work with tiles as expected.)
