Ticker not running when component is hidden

Hi There,

I was playing around with using the ticker and the random() function in the calculator as a means of generating random numbers and noticed that the ticker does not run when the graph component is hidden.

The relevant slides are linked below. If you hit the “new question” button on the first slide, you’ll notice that the coefficients/constants change. On the second slide where the graph is hidden, the numbers remain static.

update: I found a workaround by converting the graph to a sketch and just hiding everything (grid etc) and using it as a “scratch work” space for students with tablets.

Although I now notice when I click away from the page and click back, the ticker “catches up” with itself and goes through all the values that were missed while on another screen. In other words, still buggy!
