Toggling on/off a graph feature

I’m building an activity where students will be able to adjust the sides of a rectangle, and then be asked to measure it with a ruler.

Is it possible to toggle the ruler onto the graph when the student is ready to use it, and toggle it off when not in use?

Any guidance would be appreciated.
