Hi Everyone!
I found an awesome quadratics activity that I want to use with my students, but I want to add in more scaffolded support. I was wondering if it is possible to edit the activity so that students have sliders where they can adjust a, h, and k for a quadratic in vertex form as opposed to entering in the equation. For instance, the first slide has a table with an equation for students to edit. Can this be changed to sliders that they can adjust and still have the “run” feature to check if it’s correct?
That’s a nice idea actually.
I modified Slide 1 in the way you wanted but I had to modify a bit the graph component in order to make it receive a, h and k.
Here I mocked up some sliders in a graph and got rid of the table. You can also use formatLatex to define the equation if you want to strip coefficients of 1, addends or products of 0, and differences of negatives. I also made the slider specs, and the individual slider steps adjustable, so there shouldn’t be too much to adjust to your taste.
