Hello!
I’d love to be able to graph a polar function on the left portion of the screen and then have the rectangular version of it on the right. My goal is to have students see how a polar function is graphed from inputs of theta from 0 to 2pi but with a slider option.
Geogebra did it already, but I’m not loving the display. Rectangular Polar Graphs – GeoGebra
Has anyone done this and would be willing to share?
Hi Rob! I happened to have an activity with a similar exploration of transformations between coordinate systems, so I made a few panels that change that to a polar transformation.
I think that the third panel of the activity most closely replicates the GeoGebra activity (albeit without the fancy lines to the x-axis, which could be added into the Desmos graphing calculator).
Hope this helps!
(credit to the conversation at Show student graph only after they click Try It! - #9 by H_Kiamil for getting that third panel working where the students can enter custom equations!)

Andrew,
That is fantastic! Thanks for sending. I had been searching for a while for something similar.
