I know that you as a Teacher can save a graph in Desmos and paste the link into Activity Builder, but I can’t seem to get students Desmos links to paste into an Activity Builder slide and recognize it.
Is there something you need to do differently in CL to make this happen?
I thought it would be good for students to upload their finished product/graphs onto a page where I could see them instead of through an LMS. Having them all in one place for me instead of several different tabs. If they have done a lot of work (in folders, shading…) on another file (like Desmos Art), it is a lot to ask them to type them all in, but it is very little to import a link (like I can and often do) after doing the work in a Desmos file.
Use the math response element, then on the element check the box “Ask students to explain their answer”
Then you can put this in the CL part (optional):
disableEdit: true # this only disables response editing AFTER the student sumbits, very weird
explainPrompt: "Submit your graph here:"
initialText: "Paste link BELOW this text:"
I used math response because the explain thinking part (I think) and response are recorded in the teacher dashboard. However… you still need to copy+paste the link into your browser to actually see the graph.
When I do an art project, I make a custom activity that has a blank full-screen graph in it, and have students do their work directly in there in the first place. (Sorry - this doesn’t help if they have already done their work in a separate graph!) I like this method because then you can easily see their work in progress and have it all in one place.
