CL for prompts/sentence starters in the Text Input feature

I want to know how to use the CL to put prompts or sentence starters in the Text Input feature so that when it is on the students’ screen, the Text Input Box already has the prompt or sentence starter. For example, the Text Input box might have something like “Similarities: Differences:” already typed for the students so they just need to add their observations for each.

Add this to the CL of your text input

initialText: “Similarities:Differences:”

is there a way to make it so that the initial text cannot be deleted by students? I have had this happen quite often; they want to revise their answer but in doing so erase the original prompt.

I’m not sure there’s a way to do that. Not exactly what you want, but a note above the input?
