Geometry Tool - Lock Angle

Hi,
I found this activity, but it was meant for in person and I’m trying to adapt it for virtual. I found the sliding Geometry tool on slide 2 for a 30-60-90 triangle, but I can’t recreate it on slide 6 for a 45-45-90 triangle. Unfortunately, when I move point C, B doesn’t go with it and the angles change. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I don’t know the answer, but I would look at the hidden objects in slide 2. I think it has something to do with that.

I’d strongly suggest not using the Geometry Tool for this - I think you’ll find the Graph component much more flexible for what you want.

Maybe something like this would be better: Slope Triangle Thing • Activity Builder by Desmos

@Melissa_Texin I also don’t know the correct answer. But i think the answer is in 1. :slightly_smiling_face:

Point B will have to be constructed so that its x-value is dependent on the x-value of Point C and the y-value must be the length of AC.
