Hidden Graph Components No Longer Displaying as "Responses"

I have designed quite a few activities (like this one) to calculate and display student scores on a graph component of the first screen of the activity so that when I access the “Teacher” tab I can see those scores all in one place. This is what that looks like:

Unfortunately, my activities with this design have stopped behaving in this way in the last couple of weeks. In fact, activities that were already assigned, completed by students, and were once showing these Responses are now no longer showing the responses despite the fact that I made no edits to the activities. Now, I simply see “No responses yet…” where these graph component responses would normally appear:

Is anyone aware if a change was made in the last couple of weeks in how graph components are being displayed in the Teacher view of responses? Is there anyway to get back my access to student scores on previously assigned activities?

I have found that activities like this one are still displaying my scoring graph component Responses:

The difference between this activity and those that are no longer working as desired is that the working activities have the graph (score) component on the same screen as another component that students interact with (an action button, multiple choice or math input question, etc.).

To confirm this suspicion, I created this troubleshooting activity. I created an access code and joined the activity in the Student Preview Mode. In another window I had open the Teacher view of the activity dashboard and saw this on screen 1 prior to making a selection as a student:

Note that the score graph is not displayed. However, after I make a selection (as a test student) on the multiple choice question on screen 1, I see my multiple choice ‘student response’ result in the Teacher view and the score graph also appears.

Even after deselecting that MC option, the score graph is still shown in the teacher view:

It would appear to me that some unannounced (as far as I can tell) change was made by Amplify so that graph components no longer show up in the “Responses” section of the “Teacher” view of the activity dashboard unless another component on that same screen has been interacted with - an action button pressed, a math input submitted, and multiple choice selection made, etc. This behavior remains consistent regardless of whether the graph (scoring) component is set to be hidden or not, or read-only or not.

This change is even impacting activities that had been assigned prior to the change. This makes it impossible for me to see student scores on previously assigned and completed work using graph components if the graph was not placed on a screen with an interactive component.

I guess my future work around will be to place a dummy action button on my score pages (like this) just so students must ‘interact’ with something, thus allowing their scores (the graph component) to be visible on my end.

I would love for this change to be undone. If, however, it was believed that making this change would somehow improve the user experience, I believe a better solution would be to include a sink within the graph component to turn this behavior on/off OR for a toggle button to be introduced on the Teacher view to either hide/show responses for any individual component (like my score graphs).

Thoughts? Suggestions from any CL experts on how to ‘undo’ the change and restore this score page on previously assigned work? Any better workarounds?

So doesn’t fix the ones you’ve already submitted, but there is the undocumented hasResponse: true you can add to your graphs, which treats it like an interaction has happened. This should solve your issue moving forward.
