I am trying to make an simple warm-up for my classes that has the kids find perimeter but the answer is a simplified expression. I want Desmos to check what they enter and give them feedback but not sure of the coding I need.
Below is the link to my warm-up:
Finding an equivalent expression is fairly easy, but making sure it is simplified takes a bit more work. This should work for any linear answer - just change the solution latex at the top. It can be modified to allow quadratics and such if needed. [Copy of] 3/20/25 Perimeter and Area Warm-Up • Activity Builder by Desmos Classroom
This is what I am looking for and it seems to not be easily coded.
How do I adjust to allow for quadratic trinomials?
example x^2-4x-21
Hi Marie, I just added in a second slide that should work. I made it so it can also accept terms of the form x^n or ax^n. I haven’t tested this thoroughly so it may not be perfect but I think it will do what you want.
