I’m trying to make a desmos classroom activity where I give students say the first 5 terms of a sequence (plotted as stars maybe), then they will try to write the correct formula for the sequence. When they try out their formula, if it “hits” terms I’d like some kind of animation. I have found this structure for displaying the sequences (Sequences Plotter | Desmos) but I have no idea how to do the animation part. Can someone direct me to a how to video that might help me? Thank you
I recently posted this article but it may be more than you want right now. Do you want the animation to show as a function and have the hits occur along the way? Or just the points like in your example? It would be great if you tried to get what you can created even if just the layout of what you want on your screen (e.g. math response, graph, instructions).
Thank you so much for getting back to me. I worked on my activity all day yesterday and am running out of time to plan my lessons for the rest of the week now! So I had to scale back and go for something more achievable. I have saved your article for later reading. I now have a different problem I am trying to solve. I presume I start a new thread. I would like to share what I have done so far though. I don’t know how to share it in such a way that you can see my code. Also I am terrified of losing what I have done so far! I already have accidentally deleted slides and had to re-make them. I tried copying my activity so at least if I do something stupid today I have a backup from right now, but it has just make a blank activity! What might I have done wrong? And if I can make a copy, do I then just paste the link from while I am in edit mode?
From the activity landing page (not in editing mode), you can “Share activity” from the upper right menu, or just the URL. People can make copies of the activity or the screen to look at your code.
I often duplicate my screens and write notes in the title about what I’m working on. And save often!
