Request for Quick Workflow to Reset Faders to Unity or Default

Hello,

I am a professor of audio technology using Desmos to help students, many of whom are typically averse to math, grasp the mathematical concepts behind their sound pieces. In the field of audio, students are accustomed to quickly resetting the value of a fader to its default (or “unity”) value. For example, in Pro Tools, holding Option + Click resets a fader to unity, and in Ableton, double-clicking achieves the same.

Incorporating a similar shortcut or adding a “default” field for resetting values in Desmos would greatly enhance students’ ability to experiment, compare base cases to edge cases, and gain a deeper understanding of both technical and mathematical concepts.

Is there a way to achieve what I am trying to do?

You can use actions in Desmos to directly change variable values. You do this with the arrow operator (type dash then greater than sign to create). Here is an example that might help, if I am understanding what you are looking for correctly. You could make a template with sliders and actions like this, put them in a folder that’s out of the way, and then have students work from there.
