Student Generated Colors

Did you know that you can use RGB colors to set the initial and available color sinks in sketch components? Furthermore, did you know that get the values of R, G, and B from almost any source that outputs a number?

Challenge: Create a screen that allows students to build their own color palette.

Here are two different ideas I had…

  • One uses color to check answers to a three variable linear system.
  • The other is an HSV color picker that I updated/modified from something I found on the web somewhere a while back.

Here’s kind of a fun but impractical way, using stroke length to mix colors.

It would be nice if Note components supported hsv color spaces. Better yet if Desmos itself supported a more human-friendly color space such as oklch or p3.

Consider this a feature request.
