Suggestions to get me started making a lesson on factorising quadratics please

Hi everyone,

I have put my teacher development target this year to learn how to use CL and produce Desmos Classroom activities to help my students.

This is my first one: Generating Position-to-term Formulae • Activity by Amplify Classroom Feedback very welcome!

For my next one I wanted to make an activity where my students can practise factorising quadratics and getting instant feedback before trying another harder one. I teach this using the grid method. I have found this paid activity which is along the lines of what I want to do … Two-Factor Multiplication • 9th - 12th Grade Math Activity by Amplify Classroom and this youtuber also doing something similar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dc_CxDYwzMQ.

Any tips on topic discussions or videos I could read/watch to get me started on learning what I need to learn to be able to make something like this.

Thank you!

FYI the “paid activity” is a second link to your activity.

Thank you for telling me - I have put the correct link now

Here are a couple posts with factoring quadratics.

  1. Factored form self-check
  2. Help with a factoring activity! (This is mainly related to using patterns to recognize the correct form)
