Hi,
Can we upload a picture in Desmos Geometry? I can’t see the add function! Thanks.
Unfortunately not. Sorry about that!
Can you all please make this a possibility. It’s one thing to have my students construct geometry. But it’s another when we have example worksheets. Taking them from skill to application would be wonderful. Especially since I am a virtual teacher and don’t have the capability to print worksheets. If I was able to upload a picture example and have students construct on top of it using the Desmos Geometry Tool would change the game in my classroom. Please help!
sometimes you can accomplish what you want through the graph component(which does allow images).
what are you working on?
We are working on constructing equilateral triangles using circles. My students were able to by using the tool, but then we had a worksheet to do for a real world example. So I tried to paste the picture to the blank screen but couldn’t. Here’s an example. I wanted to post this and then have them create the circles using the geometry tool and then create the triangle. No tool allows me to put a pic like this as a background and then draw the triangle. The graph component doesn’t have the same tools as the geometry one.

You’re going to love this…Polypad was added as a component a few weeks ago! When you create a new slide, scroll all the way down on the component list. It’s the very last one.
Thank you so much. I saw that because I made a slide introducing my students to new Desmos activities. I thought about PolyPad and tried to use it. It did allow me to put the problem in and use the compass (circle was not available as an option). I will have to work with my students more on using the compass. I had a semi-difficult time. I will try to upload the media to the slide first and then put a Polypad. Trying to paste the pic on the slide and then using the tools backfired because it kept moving the picture. But thank you again because it is a workaround. Have a great day!
p.s. please convince them to allow uploads to the geometry tool.

Hey! We did it in class. The compass was hard but when we went down to construction tools, when you click on line, it has an option for circles like the geometry tool so my students and I are extremely happy! Thank you for your help! This is great. For virtual students, this is the best manipulative I have worked with!
