Bug Closure Suggestion

Back in February I reported an issue with the initialization of text table cell entries:

I’ve been using table cells to gather values, setting the initial value of each cell to “?” to indicate where input is required and clearing it when input starts, with script of the form: initialCellContent(1,2): when this.cellHasFocus(1,2) “” otherwise “?” This is fine when the cell is numeric but the “?” did not disappear when the cell was text. In putting an example together to illustrate the point, the “?” is now not appearing at all for the text cell? Help!

This seems to have been resolved, which is great, but no detail is shown in the posting and I can’t add to it, as the discussion has been archived. Also, I don’t remember receiving any notification of the change? Perhaps there is a better approach to bug closure, with a short explanation provided by the archivist sufficient to trigger the ‘watch’ facility?

Edit: On looking more closely, the issue is mostly resolved but the response to entering a value in the text cell to replace the question marks varies according to the position of the cursor. Putting it after the question mark is perfect but putting it before the question mark, the question mark is no longer deleted automatically.
