Using Desmos CL to create learning paths based on student performance

Hi,
I am reaching out to inquire about the possibility of creating customized sequences in Desmos Classroom. I would like to configure different learning paths based on student performance in activities. Using the CL, I have been able to set it up so that, after completing an activity, depending on whether the student’s response is correct or incorrect, a specific component appears on the following page (using ‘hidden’).

However, I would like to know if there is a way to direct the student to a different page (or activity) within the activity sequence, allowing for differentiated learning paths. This would enable me to provide, for instance, reinforcement or review activities when a student requires additional support on specific concepts.

Hi, welcome to the forum! There is no way in an activity to send students from one screen directly to another, so you are kind of limited to using hidden sinks as you mentioned. But with creativity, you can do a lot that way. If it’s helpful, you could have different messages appear in a note component with URLs to other activities, videos, etc. based on student input.

One thing you might try is using coverText to block/unblock specific screens. Here is an example: cover text • Activity Builder by Desmos Classroom

Imagine if there were some way to get to different screens (possibly even without CL) – that would be great!

Thanks for the tips! I’ll try using coverText and notes with links to navigate around.
